Community Spirit in a Cup, Barrowden’s Friendship Club Coffee Mornings

In the heart of the Rutland countryside, a simple invitation is helping to weave a tighter-knit community. The Barrowden Friendship Club is hosting its monthly coffee morning this Friday, 13 March, offering a warm space for neighbors and newcomers alike to connect over a hot drink.

In a world that often feels fast-paced and digital, these sessions hosted by Changing Connections in partnership with the Barrowden Village Hall provide a much-needed "analog" escape. It’s about more than just caffeine; it’s about combating isolation and fostering genuine local friendships.

The Friendship Club is designed with one goal in mind: Community. Whether you’ve lived in the village for forty years or just moved in last week, the atmosphere is intentionally inclusive.

Free Refreshments: Enjoy a hot drink on the house while you chat.

Open Invitation: While based in Barrowden, residents from all surrounding villages are encouraged to drop in.

Zero Pressure: This isn't a formal meeting with an agenda—just a relaxed environment to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones.

Date Friday, 13 March 2026
Time 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Venue Barrowden Community Hub, 24 Wakerley Road, LE15 8EP
Cost Free
Hosted By Changing Connections & Barrowden Village Hall

If you can’t make it this week, don't worry. The Friendship Club has a regular presence at the Community Hub. Following the March gathering, the next scheduled date is:
Friday, 10 April 2026

Local "hubs" like the one in Barrowden are the lifeblood of rural Rutland. They provide a vital touchpoint for people to check in on one another, share local news, and build a support network that extends far beyond the walls of the Village Hall.

Getting There: The Barrowden Community Hub is located on Wakerley Road. If you are driving in from a neighboring village, there is typically convenient local access, making it an easy Friday morning outing.
