Cllr Alan Walters Rutland County Council Teenagers need better facilities

Cllr Alan Walters Rutland County Council Teenagers need better facilities

Cllr Alan Walters write to the Rutland Times about a problem that
has been around for many years which no one can solve.

The local police are concerned a expressed those concerns on Rutland
Radio.

From what I can gather is a group of young people are using our bus
station in the style of a Amsterdam Coffee Shop.

If Rutland County Council actually spent some of the money they
have received from Hawksmead Larkfleet then maybe these young
people could meet in the £600,000 community hub which is meant
to be built

An alternative is the Town Council take the keys back from
the Ark Association Nursery for the Princess Avenue property
which for some reason was name Oakham Community Centre
before the council handed over the keys with no lease agreed or
signed.

Rutland County Council own the empty garages next to the
building.

They could rebuild on the site jointly with the town council
and create a community hub and a Childrens Services Centre
