Cllr Joyce Lucas Oakham Town Council Attacks Rutland Conservatives in Letter to Rutland Times Library Extension
I don't disagree with anything Cllr Lucas has written, The Rutland Conservative in the past
have been made up of some the vilest selfish rotten Tories led by the Chief Executive Helen
Briggs.
Terry King and her are really the only poison that remains at Rutland County Council.
In her letter she points out the Rutland Tories now led by Terry King have pulled one
of their oldest tricks, which is likely to see the recent committee decision which turned down
the councils own application to extend the library, overturned. Four Tories can't accept the decision of the committee who considered the matter carefully before turning it down.
They have called the application to full council. The Rutland Tories have done this before
when they don't get their own way. Bringing it to full council where they have a majority
will see it pass.
I attended the meeting when the application was turned down, Terry King left the room
and Mrs Briggs rushed out the room after approval was refused I assume this was to
update him that things had not gone as they wished?
I said at the start of this post, I agree with Cllr Lucas comments against the actions of the
Tories but she is a hypocrite, as a member of Oakham Town Council I have lost count how many times Oakham Town Council has made a decision for it only to return to council after some
one has had a word and Cllr Lucas is very guilty of that you don't to look back far to see
evidence of that. Rutland County Councils CCTV Pole is a fine example of this.
I am also confused as to why Cllr Lucas has recently taken to writing to the paper
stating she is writing as a concerned member of the public and not a Cllr. If that is
the case, then why is she and the Deputy Clerk are bringing this item to council next
week.
