Conservative Peter Batty Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Councillor has issued a grovelling apology for forwarding a series of sexist, racist and pornographic emails.

Conservative Peter Batty Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Councillor has issued a grovelling apology for forwarding a series of sexist, racist and pornographic emails.

Cllr Batty has sat on the Lib Dem-controlled borough council since 2006 and leader of the Tories
since May 2013

In December 2013 he was banned from sitting on Groby parish council for a month after an independent committee found he breached the code of conduct requiring councillor's to treat all races equally.

The Tory Leader in the past claimed he is a victim of a Lib Dem-led “witch-hunt”

Four Conservatives resigned from the standards committee, Reg Ward, Janice Richards, Ruth Camamile and Ozzy O’Shea, say they no longer have faith in the gathering and feel the ruling Lib Dems are not acting impartially.

In the same year one of the team Tory Councillor Councillor Chris Boothby  who claimed benefit was convicted of benefit fraud after caught working as a bus driver.

There has been a lot of controversy at this council, I think the best was when a Conservative
Councillor moved to France and only resigned once the media became involved. Mr Philip Andrews
thought it would be fine if he complied with rules and only attended one meeting every six months, back in 2005
