Coronavirus Support Where is Oakham Town Council Letter to Rutland County Councils Leader

Coronavirus  Support Where is Oakham Town Council Letter to Rutland County Councils Leader

Dear Oliver,

I am sure you are very busy during this difficult time, so I am sorry to bother you.

One of your fellow councillors appears to be thick and causing other councillor stress
by suggesting one of them had leaked info to me regarding the Ketton employee.
The information came from the local paper and if the person causing the crap read the whole
blog post, they would have found the article is incomplete and ended with a link to the Stamford
Mercury article. This is a normal thing for bloggers to do.

Can I ask why you have a link to parish councils on your  coronavirus support pages?
I do understand the reason why, but in the case of Oakham Town Council it has decided to desert its community and fully close down but still paying a full time clerk and taking money from local tax payers? surely the clerk should be now being
paid from the governments HMRC 80% scheme.

Town Councillor Mr Ainsley who is also a Rutland County Councillor has express his concern and
told me some members of the Town Council wish to do some things to assist the residents of Oakham. But
all communication regarding this is being obstructed or blocked by The Mayor Dave Romney and Cllr Adam Lowe
The question is why?

The fact Oakham Town Council has no emergency plan for Oakham was always a concern to me and I
was told by many former Councillors there was no need. It is my opinion this current emergency has proved
the town council is pointless.

Lots of families have lost their incomes and the town council should be assisting with coordinating resources and
support to these families, just like parish council in our villages.

I would like to thank Rutland County Council and all it's staff for what they are doing for Oakham and the
wider community.

Best Wishes from

Martin Brookes
