Hampshire Constabulary, Police England and Wales Police and Crime Commissioner elections, 2012

Hampshire Constabulary

Simon Hayes is an independent.  He is Chairman of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Crimestoppers and former Chair of Hampshire Police Authority.

Cllr David Goodall, an Eastleigh Borough Councillor with family connections to Hampshire Police, is the Liberal Democrat Candidate. Most candidates will talk about catching more criminals and having more police on the beat, but without saying how these are possible within the limited resources available. Some will talk about zero tolerance and use a mass of meaningless targets.

Michael Mates, former Conservative MP for East Hampshire, is the Conservative candidate.
The decision to appoint Police and Crime Commissioners is the most radical change in policing in our country since the Second World War.  It is at the very heart of Conservative policy: to cut crime.

Cllr Jacqui Rayment is the Labour candidate. Jacqui Rayment is standing to be the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (IOW).  Jacqui is standing on her record as the best person to reduce crime and stand up for Hampshire and IOW against Tory/Lib Dem cuts to the police.

Cllr Stephen West, after defecting from the Conservative Party, is the UKIP candidate.
As your Police and Crime Commissioner, I will tackle crime at its source, with zero tolerance of anti-social behaviour and protect the vulnerable.
