Don't Miss Your Last Chance to Shape Rutland's Future: Local Plan Consultation Closes December 2nd!

Don't Miss Your Last Chance to Shape Rutland's Future: Local Plan Consultation Closes December 2nd!

Residents are urged to make their voices heard as the deadline for comments on the new Rutland Local Plan approaches.

The public consultation on the plan, which will guide development in Rutland until 2041, closes on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at 4 pm. This is your final opportunity to weigh in on the plan's legal compliance and overall effectiveness.

What is the Local Plan?

The Local Plan is a crucial document that outlines how Rutland will grow and develop over the next two decades. It sets targets for housing, employment, and other types of development, while also identifying suitable locations for these projects.

How to Participate

All consultation documents and the online portal for submitting comments can be found on the Rutland County Council's Local Plan website: https://www.rutland.gov.uk/planning-building-control/local-plan/new-local-plan/pre-submission-draft-local-plan-consultation-regulation-19

What if I've Commented Before?

If you participated in previous consultation stages, you can use your existing Opus account to submit additional comments and access your previous submissions.

What Makes a "Sound" Local Plan?

For the plan to be adopted, it must be deemed "sound" by the Planning Inspectorate. This means it must be:

Positively Prepared: Proactively plans for future needs.

Justified: Backed by strong evidence.

Effective: Achieves its objectives.

Consistent: Aligns with national planning policies.

Your Voice Matters

All comments submitted during this consultation stage will be considered by the Planning Inspectorate alongside the Local Plan itself. A strong public response will help ensure the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of Rutland residents.

The Deadline is Approaching

Don't miss this final chance to shape the future of Rutland. Submit your comments by 4 pm on December 2nd, 2024.
