Graham Carey Rutland County Council Oakham South West Election 2015

Graham Carey Rutland County Council Oakham South West

Mr Carey never been a particularly pleasant man to me and others.

I asked a current Rutland County Councillor why Mr Carey lost his
job as the monitoring officer at Rutland County County Council.
He replied "simply he had to go because he was a liability"

Mr Carey went onto work for Coventry City Council he was suspended
after allegations were made about his conduct at the staff Christmas
Party. After an investigation his contract was not extended.

Mr Carey was recently working for Leicester City Council.
It is suspected he is responsible for giving letters  taken from
Leicester City file to a former Oakham Town Councillor Charles
Haworth who published on-line to attack a local resident.

Mr Graham Carey, Sent To Coventry? Coventry City Council, Former Rutland County Council Monitoring Officer, Recycled to Leicester City Council, Democratic Services

Mr Graham Carey

A local man who was forced to resign from the Committee of Arts For Rutland.

After he sent me unprovoked disgusting and threatening communications, I don't
know if he was drunk at the time, but the content was not what you would expect from
a rational person.

I have just found out Mr Carey was employed by Rutland County Council as their monitoring officer.

After he left, he continued to serve on the Standards Committee at the same council.

No reason was given for his leaving, an announcement was made at Oakham Town Council on the 4th October 2006.

He would have overseen complaints some of the early complaints received from
his friends about me. at Rutland County Council.

Mr Carey is now employed by democratic services at Leicester City Council, a letter
sent to that council back in 2003 by a member of the public has recently been leaked
onto a disgusting blog used to attack me and that member of the public.

Mr Carey is no stranger to controversy, during his career throughout local government.
another example from 2007 is listed below Mr Carey was Dismissed from Coventry City Council.

A TOP council official who was suspended for a month over a remark he made at a Christmas do has lost his job.

Graham Carey had his probationary period at Coventry City Council extended from six months to nine months.

Now bosses have decided he's not to be confirmed in his new post as head of democratic services.

He has five days to appeal against the decision and is understood to be at home serving out his notice period.

He ran into trouble at Christmas after remarks he made in a city centre pub while having festive drinks with staff.

He allegedly warned them to be careful not to get too close to councillors.

Someone later complained officially to chief executive Stella Manzie.

An official investigation was launched and he was suspended on full pay for a month before returning to work.

In his last job at Rutland County Council he was the monitoring officer responsible for handling complaints about councillors' conduct.

His job at Coventry was a new one created during a re-shuffle of top posts. He was appointed last July.

A spokesman for the city council said: "Coventry City Council has decided not to confirm Graham Carey in the post of head of democratic services following a review of his extended probationary period of employment.

"Mr Carey has the right to appeal on this decision."

COVENTRY CITY COUNCIL is paying £780 a day, plus expenses, for a legal expert.
David Taylor works three days a week as interim head of the council's democratic services.
He's been placed there by outside firm of consultants Veredus, which has a contract with the council.
Mr Taylor is standing in on a temporary basis for the previous head of democratic services, Graham Carey, who left this summer.
Mr Taylor doesn't get all the money as the sum includes a fee to Veredus.
But he is still the council's most expensive appointment.
Veredus is charging almost TWICE as much per day as it will cost the council to fill the post with a directly-employed full-time person.
The vacancy has been advertised at between £60,651 and £67,035 and final interviews are being held next Friday.
Some councillors are outraged at the cost of the temporary appointment.
Cllr Phil Townshend (Lab, Lower Stoke) said the bill for Mr Taylor was more per day, pro rata, than the council paid its £140,000-a-year chief executive, Stella Manzie.
