Hello Dolly, Curve, theatre, Leicester

HELLO, DOLLY!

30 NOV 2012 - 12 JAN 2013
THEATRE PERFORMANCE

All aboard!  This Christmas be transported to the bright lights and excitement of New York City and boy, are we going to take it by storm!

Dolly Levi is a glamorous and wise cracking woman with a big heart.  She is also a professional matchmaker focussed on bringing love to the great and good of Manhattan but especially to our heroes, Barnaby and Cornelius who are not going home until they've each kissed a girl.  However, she soon realises that one of her suitors brings more than a little sparkle to her own eye too...with hilarious consequences!
This production will reunite the critically-acclaimed creative team which staged the musical spectaculars Gypsy (Curve) and The King and I (Curve and national tour). The production will be directed by Curve Artistic Director Paul Kerryson, designed by Sara Perks and choreographed by David Needham. The musical is packed with energetic dance numbers including the famous Walters' Gallop at the fabulous Harmonia Gardens and the iconic Before the Parade Passes By.
Hello Dolly! was also immortalised in film in 1969, starring Barbra Streisand and Michael Crawford, when it was nominated for seven Academy Awards.  The music and lyrics are by the great Jerry Herman who also wrote La Cage Aux Folles, Mack and Mabel andMame.

This is one big, bold and brassy Broadway musical extravaganza of a show and promises to be spectacular Christmas show for all of the family!
