Dr. Ian Ridley is 45 and works as a data analyst. He was awarded a PhD in Climate Physics by the University of Leicester and has been a parent governor at a primary school for 8 years.
Ian says, "My research experience means that I take a keen interest in preventing Climate Change. I am worried about the damage to our prosperity, environment and continuing peace in Europe that a reckless Hard Brexit could mean.
"I also have practical knowldge of school finances in Leicestershire and the dangers posed to the quality of our children's education by cuts to school funding."
Ian has also campaigned against cuts to tip opening times and Conservative plans to bring in on-street parking meters. He says, "It is bad enough that the Tory-run Melton District Council charges for car parks; parking meters will threaten local businesses in a time of economic uncertainty following the Brexit vote."
