Leicestershire Special Constable Dismissed for Misconduct

A Leicestershire special police constable, Kayleigh-Mae Knight, has been dismissed without notice following a gross misconduct hearing. The decision was made after it was found that she had breached multiple standards of professional behavior between January and September 2023.

The misconduct involved taking four images of confidential information from police computer systems and sharing one of these images with two individuals outside of the police force. The shared image had no legitimate policing purpose.

Chief Constable Rob Nixon expressed disappointment, stating that while Knight had shown remorse, her actions demonstrated a lack of care for confidential information. He emphasized the importance of protecting police data and the need for strict adherence to professional standards.

As a result of the misconduct, Knight has been added to the Police Barred List, preventing her from future employment within the police force.
