Essex Police, Police England and Wales Police and Crime Commissioner elections, 2012
Essex Police
Linda Belgrove, former Vice Chair of Essex Police Authority, is an independent candidate. The “night time economy” is a huge financial drain to many including Essex Police. People will be held responsible for their behaviour and anti-social crime will have consequences.
Captain Nicholas Alston, a retired naval officer and director in the Civil Service, is the Conservative candidate. I am delighted to be standing as Conservative candidate for Essex Police and Crime Commissioner.
Val Morris Cook, deputy leader of Thurrock Council, is the Labour candidate Together we can bring crime down. As Police and Crime Commissioner I will focus on bringing all of the community together to help the Police in reducing anti-social behaviour, ensure that victims are properly supported and criminals are properly punished. In these constrained times I have the skills and experience in business to deliver improved results with fewer resources.
Andrew Smith, a businessman, is the UKIP candidate. I have lived in Essex all my adult life where my children were born and raised.I am a Chartered Accountant helping new businesses to form and grow. My commercial and professional skills will be invaluable in getting results from shrinking police budgets and building a constructive relationship with Essex Police.
Former chief superintendent Mick Thwaites is standing as an independent. Essex is the County where I have worked and lived most of my life. I joined the City of London Police in 1975 and I have over 34 years of experience working in some of the toughest and most challenging areas of policing.
Robin Tilbrook, National Chairman of the English Democrats, is standing as the English Democrats' candidate. “MORE POLICE – Catching Criminals!”.
