MELTON MOWBRAY CHOCFEST - 19TH & 20TH NOVEMBER 2016
ChocFest is a festival of all things chocolate.
We British eat £4.6billion worth of chocolate each year. Half the chocolate we eat is milk chocolate; a third is dark and the rest white chocolate. Chocolate has only been available in Europe since the rediscovery of the Americas in 1492. The Spanish kept it a secret for over a century, chocolate finally arriving in Britain as drinking chocolate in the 17th Century. Solid chocolate became widespread from the late 16th century.
To celebrate chocolate we’ve organised a massive festival of all things chocolate; chocolates, cakes, liqueurs, macaroons, drinks, biscuits, desserts… loads of other stalls as well selling wine, champagne, cakes, pies, cheese…
