The premises on the left have been vacated by Dr of China after
they found there was not much call for herbal medication here
in Oakham
The vacant premises have been acquired by the Red Indian Restaurant
on the right. The owner want to expand into take away and recently
applied for planning permission to knock down the rear of their
property which is listed.
Oakham Town Council had no problem with approving the demolition.
Cllr Joyce Lucas objected.
Fortunately Rutland County Council don't often listen to Oakham Town
Council. Although it is known that the correct 106 payment has swayed
our good Tory Councillors in the past., when considering planning applications
within the conservation area.
I wonder how the attractive Black Chimney gained planning consent.
