Moving Bus Stops Catmos Street and New Parking Spaces Church Street Oakham Rutland

From Monday parking outside the library in Catmos Street will be prohibited, the parking bays are transformed into temporary Bus Stops until next April. The council start work on building its new tiny bus station in Johns Street. Passengers will be able to sit on the loo and use free Wi Fi while they await their bus.

Three spaces remain one side of Catmos Street. Motorists quickly filled the
new spaces created outside Barclay's Bank just up the road.

Popular spaces outside the library have been temporally lost, one remains for the use use
of Town Councillors past and present, Sorry I mean blue badge holders.

Additional parking spaces have been created in Church Street.

Line Painters have been very busy today.

The old public loo's in John Street above, a new bus station soon to be built here.

Reading the Rutland Times today I learnt from Cllr Lucas, Oakham has the best public toilets in the country. I don't think she was referring to these they stunk and were a place to avoid.

When I attend Town Council meetings I wonder if some of our fine Town Councillors ever leave there cars and take a look around our town? I sat and listened to councillor saying there was no where to sit for people who were waiting for a bus, well there was a long bench under cover. If you did n't mind sharing the seat next to a smoking drinking drunk. They appear to have vanished, I do hope the contractors have not
buried them in the recent excavations!

I think the Cllr is referring to the loo's operated by her council, which can be found in Church Street, When you pay over £20,000 a year for part time cleaning it no surprise she thinks there the best.

One thing I have noticed about Rutland County Council is they come up with big ideas that turn into
little things, first we had the Big Build that became the Little Build and then we had the Big Transport Hub that has become the Tiny Hub
