My response to Helen Briggs attack against my blog comments about the postal vote openings.
I can not believe that Mrs Briggs and her highly over paid team made up of Mrs Mogg, Mrs Baker
and Alex and Sam are so weak and sensitive that my comments about their staff ignoring basic rules
such as handling rubbish and ballot papers at the same time and Ignoring the Conservative James
Lammie when he walks in and out without complying with the signing requirements. Is having
such a detrimental effect on their morale. If it is maybe its time they found new jobs.
The returning officer did take note of mine and others complaint made about James Lammie
because when he turned up yesterday he was called out of the room by Mrs Baker who told him to follow procedure. He then sat for a few minutes and departed after signing out.
Mrs Briggs and her team for many years have shown and implemented a Tory bias at
Rutland County County Council and the actions of James Lammie conducted over a
number of days proved just that.
Mrs Briggs also in her email accuses me of undermining public confidence in the
election process. I disagree she does that well enough herself.
An example is the email she sent this morning which she asks me to publish in
full, I have told her I wont. I believe it shows her as either a very weak person
or a person who can not accept public scrutiny or both.
Mrs Briggs has still failed to explain why a verification paper was still attached to
a ballot pack at the point of opening yesterday this was held up for all in the
room to see.
Her staff were laughing and joking through out the morning and frankly I am fed
up with Mrs Briggs constant lies when she says witness's are mistaken.
She tweets when the law states you should not use electronic equipment
4.5 You should also remind attendees that smoking is not allowed within the building and advise on any policy regarding drinking and using mobile phones, any health and safety issues such as evacuation procedures and fire drills, and any other relevant information
Her and staff eat and drink at their place of work ignoring this rule no provision
is made to comply with all the requirements, there is a coffee machine priced at
40p
2.21 Area for refreshments – Consider providing an area where counting
assistants and other staff can get drinks and snacks. It is important to have
adequate refreshments available to help to maintain staff energy and
concentration levels throughout the process. You should not allow counting
assistants to eat or drink at the counting tables in order to avoid the possibility
of any spillages. You should consider whether to provide refreshments for
candidates, agents, observers and other attendees, and whether or not to
charge for them.
Mrs Briggs also fails to enforce this rule instructing her staff to tell us to
email in any complaints or observations she refuses to communicate
with candidates agents and count agents directly. unless her morale
is effected.
4.7 If agents or observers are dissatisfied in any way with the manner in which the proceedings are being carried out, the opportunity should always be available for them to make direct representations to you at the earliest opportunity so that any concerns may be considered, explanations and reassurances given, and any corrective action taken if necessary.
Dear Mrs Briggs
"Your comments are therefore unhelpful, misleading and are now having an impact on the morale of the Election Team. All of whom are working hard to deliver an efficient election and ensure that everyone who wishes to, has an opportunity to vote."
I find the above paragraph from a recent email you sent me very odd.
My comments are fairly minor and important, the biggest issue for me and others
is the constant failings by your staff not to handle rubbish whilst handling votes.
And also the fact votes are out of sight for a long period due to the lay out of the room.
Your team seem very fragile considering the level pay they receive. Perhaps you could share with
them what the district Judge told you in court when you lied under oath.
Perhaps I should publish a court transcript for them to read whilst they are working?
The problem I see is as always you are not accommodating to any form of public scrutiny
