Durham Constabulary, Police England and Wales Police and Crime Commissioner elections, 2012

Durham Constabulary

Ron Hogg
Former Deputy Chief Constable of Cleveland Ron Hogg is the Labour candidate. "As your Labour Police and Crime Commissioner I promise to listen to your needs"

nickpcc1 (2)
Nick Varley is the Conservative candidate. "Nick was born and raised in County Durham, with family and friends all over the
county, including Darlington. To really get a grip on the issues the Police & Crime
Commissioner will have to deal with, they need to understand the people they will be
representing – this is Nick’s strength. As a local man, he is well placed to understand
the views of local residents."

Mike Costello
Michael Costello is the UKIP candidate. He has formerly worked with the Durham force on IT projects. "I am well known and, I like to think, a highly effective community activist in Durham City and the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Durham."

Kingsley Smith, former Chief Executive of Durham County Council, is standing as an independent candidate. " I am passionate that the Commissioner should be INDEPENDENT and therefore able to speak and represent all the people of County Durham and Darlington without fear or favour of political parties, trade unions, business or other organisations. A VOTE FOR ME WILL KEEP POLITICS OUT OF LOCAL POLICING."
