Notice of Adoption of Community Infrastructure Levy by Rutland County Council

Notice of Adoption of Community Infrastructure Levy by Rutland County Council

Rutland County Council adopted it’s Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule on Monday 11 January 2016.

The CIL is a new, locally set charge on development.  It is intended to give more certainty to developers over how much their development will need to contribute to meeting the costs of infrastructure. It will supplement other funding streams to ensure that new community infrastructure can be provided to support local growth and to give councils and communities more choice and flexibility in how they fund infrastructure.

The CIL Charging Schedule sits alongside, and is linked with, the Council’s adoption of a new Planning Obligations SPD. Both will be implemented as of 1 March 2016. The Planning Obligations SPD will then replace the following local planning policy documents applied by the Council to determine planning obligations:

·      The “Planning Obligations and Developer Contribution Supplementary Planning Document 2010”

·      The “Developer Contributions to Off-site Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document 2012” and

·      The “Guidance on the Council priorities in negotiating Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions 2010”.

A copy of the CIL Charging Schedule and all related documentation can be viewed on the Council’s website at;
