Notices of Election Published For Rutland County Council, Towns and Parish Council May 2019 Elections

Notices of election for upcoming Parish, Town and County Councillor elections have been published.

Local government elections are due to take place in Rutland on Thursday 2 May 2019.
A total of 27 Rutland County Councillors are to be elected across 15 Wards. In addition, 236 Parish and Town Councillors are to be elected across 33 Parishes and Parish Wards. 
Nomination packs can now be obtained from Rutland County Council’s offices and must be returned by prospective candidates before 4.00pm on Wednesday 3 April 2019.  
Where elections are contested (there are more candidates standing than there are seats available), voting is due to take place from 7.00am until 10.00pm on Thursday 2 May 2019
Anyone who is not registered to vote but wants to take part in May’s local elections must register before 12 April 2019 and can do this online.  
The deadline for submitting new applications to vote by post and postal proxy, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes, is Monday 15 April 2019
The deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) is Wednesday 24 April 2019
Votes cast in the elections will be counted at Victoria Hall in Oakham on Friday 3 May(the day after Polling Day). Depending on the number of contested seats, the count for town and parish councils may continue into Saturday 4 May, at the Council Chamber. 
Following final recommendations made by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, there have been a number of changes to Ward boundaries in Rutland since the last full round of local government elections in May 2015. This has changed where some people will need to vote.

Local elections for councillors to serve on Rutland County Council and town and parish councils throughout Rutland are due to take place on Thursday 2nd May 2019.
Where these elections are contested, polls will open at 7.00am and close at 10.00pm

Following the recommendations of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England's for new electoral arrangements for Rutland County Council, some Ward boundaries changed. As a result so did the polling district and in some cases the polling place and station also changed.

If you haven't done it already, you must have registered to vote by 12 April 2019 to vote in May's local elections.
