There are just days to go until the historic Oakham Castle reopens its doors to members of the public on Monday 30th May 2016 with a fantastic day of Norman celebrations.
The Castle has been closed for major restoration work since September 2015 and a grand reopening is planned for the Monday Bank Holiday, transporting visitors back to Norman England with exciting family events and activities. Come along and enjoy:

This FREE event takes place from 11am - 4pm
Oakham Castle is the best example of Norman domestic architecture anywhere in the country and now boasts an array of new displays and activities for families and those who love history.
This is all thanks to a £2millon investment from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
