Oakham Christmas Late Night Shopping another example of how unprofessional Oakham Town Council is and Cllr Lowe Deputy Mayor
At the last meeting our deputy Mayor "got fed up" and made a daft proposal that the
council gazebos would be located anywhere in Rutland. Well at least he was not attacking
single mothers this time.
This minute referring to Oakham Town Council involvement with Oakham town
centres Christmas event will become an indefinite record of the Town Council
unprofessional approach.
It would appear that the members no longer care how the council is perceived by the
residents of Oakham.
I voted against and explained my reason and I can not understand why other
members voted for the daft proposal.
Following discussions that concerned the possible location of the Council’s gazebos at the event and the sum of money to be made available for the purchase of items:
(i) It was proposed by Cllr Adam Lowe, seconded by Cllr Dave Blanksby and resolved with 10 votes for and 1 against that the Christmas Working Group take over the running of the Council’s involvement at the event and the Council’s gazebos would be located anywhere in Rutland
(ii) It was proposed by Cllr Adam Lowe, seconded by Cllr Dave Blanksby and resolved with 8 votes for, 2 against and 1 abstention that the sum of £150 be allocated but that this would not be used for inappropriate purchases.
