Oakham Mayor and Town Councillor Adam Lowe has been employed as The Town Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer for Uppingham Town Council
Uppingham Town Council has announced the appointment of Adam Lowe as its new Town Clerk. Lowe, a well-known figure in the Rutland community and currently serving as Mayor of Oakham, officially took up the role this week.
With a strong background in local government, including extensive experience as a parish councillor and a formal qualification as a parish clerk, Lowe was unanimously chosen by the council to fill the position.
His immediate priorities include overseeing the recruitment of seven new councillors and progressing the town's second Neighbourhood Plan.
Cllr Ron Simpson BEM, Executive Director of Uppingham First, expressed enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “The Uppingham community warmly welcomes Adam to this crucial role. His deep understanding of parish councils will be invaluable as the town moves forward.”
Lowe made his first public appearance as Town Clerk at the recent Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum AGM, where he was met with a positive reception from attendees.
