Oakham Motorist Penalised Over M40 Driving Offence at Oxford Magistrates Court
A 59-year-old resident from Oakham has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds in fines and costs after pleading guilty to a charge of driving without due care and attention.
Martin Pugh, of Hectors Way, Oakham, Rutland, appeared in connection with an incident that took place last year on December 9.
According to the case details, Pugh was driving a vehicle on the M40 slip road at junction nine, heading towards Bicester, when the offence occurred.
Court Penalties
For driving without due care and attention, magistrates handed down the following financial penalties and driving sanctions:
Fine: £307
Victim Surcharge: £123
Prosecution Costs: £130
Licence Endorsement: 6 penalty points added to his driving record
The total financial penalty amounts to £760, which Martin Pugh must now pay. The addition of six penalty points also brings him significantly closer to the threshold for a driving disqualification under the UK's totting-up procedure.
