Oakham Motorists Warned of Travel Delays Ahead of Upcoming Railway Crossing Closures
Drivers in Oakham are being urged to plan their journeys carefully as two upcoming road closures are set to impact local railway crossings this October. With closures affecting key routes on separate weekends, motorists should expect increased congestion and potential travel delays across the town.
Key Closure Details
Station Road / Infrastructure Works: On 4 October, a closure will take place from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM as Network Rail carries out essential infrastructure works.
Diversion: Traffic will be redirected to use the crossing on Cold Overton Road.
Brooke Road / Utility Works: A longer closure begins on 12 October at 8:00 AM and runs until 4:00 PM on 14 October. Severn Trent Water will be conducting road works next to the train crossing.
Diversion: The signed route will direct vehicles via the B640 (Oakham High Street) and Balmoral Road to navigate around the disruption.
