On Remembrance Sunday, the people of Rutland gathered to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A poignant parade marched through the town centre, culminating in a solemn County Service at All Saints Church. The parade, a testament to the county's unwavering respect for fallen heroes, included representatives from the armed forces, veterans' associations, and local organisations. As the procession wound its way through the streets, onlookers paid their respects, standing in silent tribute. The County Service at All Saints Church provided a fitting conclusion to the day's events. A moving ceremony, filled with prayers, hymns, and this was followed by laying of wreaths, commemorating the sacrifices made by Rutland's fallen. On Remembrance Sunday, following a county service held at All Saints Church in Oakham, Rutland, a procession of dignitaries and representatives from local organisations made their way to the town's War Memorial. There, they laid wreaths to honour the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

The sombre ceremony was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives in conflicts past and present. The wreaths, adorned with poppies, symbolised the enduring respect and gratitude owed to the fallen heroes.

Among those present were Dr Sarah Furness The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, The High Sheriff of Rutland and organisations, e.g., local councillors, military personnel, representatives from veterans' groups, and community organizations. Each group approached the memorial with reverence, laying their wreaths carefully at the foot of the monument.

The wreath-laying ceremony at Oakham's War Memorial was a solemn and meaningful event, a fitting tribute to the sacrifices made by generations of brave men and women.

Oakham's poignant Remembrance Sunday commemorations concluded today with a solemn parade. The procession, which departed from the churchyard of All Saints' Church, made its way along the town's High Street. The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Sarah Furness, Took the salute as the various organisations and groups marched past. The parade included representatives from the Royal British Legion, armed forces veterans, cadets, Scouts, Guides. The parade route was lined with residents paying their respects to those who have fallen in service to their country. Many people wore poppies, a symbol of remembrance. The Remembrance Sunday commemorations in Oakham were a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals, and the parade provided a fitting conclusion to a day of reflection and gratitude.
