Oakham Town Council Approves the felling of three trees in Station Road
Oakham Town Town Council considered an application to fell
three trees in Station Road Oakham.
Without the assistance and knowledge of the tree warden who
has resigned the Mayor Cllr Adam Lowe turned to Wikipedia
he told councillors none of the trees were native to England.
This prompted Cllr Lockett to ask if permission from the Chinese
embassy would be needed before the willow was felled.
The Mayor said he had visited the trees and they did not look
good and were a risk to children, so members approved the
application.
