Oakham Town Council Oakham Library Rutland County Council Begging Letter
Rutland Library sent a begging letter to Oakham Town Council asking for £11,000
or Rutland County Council would cut the opening hours.
Oakham Town Council discussed the issue tonight.
Cllr Alfred Dewis said Rutland County Council was penny pinching and £11,000
was chicken feed.
Cllr Lockett raised concern about the loss of evening service
Cllr Dyer said he visited the library tonight and it was busy
In general Councillor felt they needed a better understanding of the rational behind
Rutland County Councils proposal.
Haworth's medication kicked in and he said they just want a yes or no answer
all disagreed with him.
Alfred Dewis requested that comments about funding were not minuted.
It was agreed a simple comment would be made asking for more information.
There was talk of looking at the possibility of looking toward running the service with
volunteers. Another responsibility for Cllr Lucas maybe?
