Yesterday Oakham Town Council pointlessly considered the following planning applications
They had spent so much time considering some very petty issues they felt they had to
rush through the following applications.
At one point shockingly Cllr showed a passion for the historic nature of Oakham
and very passionately attempted to point out the destruction of a listed building
in the the west end of the town. It appeared none of the other councillors
had read the word demolition as most of them vote approval as Councillor
Lucas pointed out there was little choice as they had voted previously for the change
of use, of course that has not bothered them in the past. the funniest event being
a refusal to allow Tesco to demolition a property and then permit then agree
permission for them to create the proposed car parking spaces.
The Councils lap top appears to be broken so Richard the clerk used his to show plans
it did not go to well as personal things were being flashed up onto the big screen.
after one councillor said "oh I never knew you liked punk music" and others said be careful
what you show us heroic Cllr Dewis came to the rescue and placed his hand over the
lens until the Clerk found the next plans.
