Oakham Town Council profligate, The Town Clerk
Dear Oakham Town Council
Dear Oakham Town Council
OPEN LETTER
Please can you let me know how many more months full sick pay you are going to pay your Clerk?
I am told the Clerk is currently sign off sick until the 11th January 2015
In any other normal organisation, it would be normal to expect a maximum of six weeks sick pay before the employee would be required to claim statutory sick pay.
Over the years I have been aware of the Clerks many periods of absence, the council has paid the Clerk full pay well in excess of the six week limit. This is an abuse of Tax Payers Money.
Further more the burden imposed on the deputy Clerk who is not remunerated for the extra workload
entailed by his persistent absence is also unacceptable.
I understand the Clerk provides Doctors notes and this stage in time it would be appropriate and normal for an employer to seek an independent medical opinion.
The Deputy Mayor Alf Dewis claims he is an experienced human resources consultant?
By allowing this situation to continue he and others are in dereliction of their fiscal duties towards the local Tax Payers.
Kind Regards
Martin Brookes
