Oakham Town Council's Proposed Newspaper Feature

Dear Oakham Town Council,

All though I believe this to be a good thing to do if our town council was not so dysfunctional.
I can not take part in what can only be described as a deception of the public.
Since the May elections  the only thing We have achieved is to fail to present
external auditors with accounts a very serious failing, The Council has not achieved anything else.
The majority of the older members show me no respect, they exclude and bully me and now want
to pretend in a newspaper article that everything is fine.

I do not want to be associated in anyway with this article.
This includes the use of my name, photograph or personal details within that article

Perhaps when those members who can afford basic respect and get on with running a
parish council in a professional less child like manner and perhaps start work on things
such as the neighbourhood plan and the community hub I will reconsider my decision.

Regards

Cllr Martin Brookes

Dear All,

We are preparing to write a newspaper article about OTC.  We want to showcase some of the wonderful things that the council, indeed the councillors do for Oakham.  Things like the band concerts, the  Fun Day, the mural project.  We will also draw a distinction between OTC and RCC, with clarity of what we are responsible for.
This will show the public that one of the purposes of  OTC is to enhance the lives of the people who live here, it will also show the things that are not in our jurisdiction to change.

Along with the information on the council as a whole, we would also like to include a group photo of all the councillors ( wear your best togs to the 19th), and a brief synopsis of each councillor.  You do not need to include personal information that makes you feel uncomfortable, but it would be nice to have a fuller picture of the quality and skill set we have on the council.

We can retrieve this information for The Mayor, Stan Stubbs, Adam Lowe, and Joyce Lucas from the OTC website.  If there is any more information you would like to add, please feel free.  For all other councillors, the information you give us for the article will also be added to the website, clearly available for your ward to see.

Some suggestions you may want to include: professional qualifications, passions/leisure pursuits, other organisations you are a part of,  why you became a councillor and how you would like to help the town of Oakham.

We will have an email address in the article, so that it is easily available for the public to write with feedback, concerns, or thanks!  This will not be a personal email address.

Regards,

Rebecca , Jasmine , Adam
