Peter Faulkner Conservative Melton borough councillor has resigned

Peter Faulkner a elected Conservative Melton borough Councillor has resigned after claiming reports to councillors over taxi licence fee rises contained inaccuracies.

Peter Faulkner said he was asked to use his influence as a taxi driver to stop the objections from pther drivers because ‘it is only a few pounds’.

Peter Faulkner, was voted in on Melton Egerton ward at last May's Election.

Shortly after the result was announced, at the count at the Market Tavern, Mr Faulkner said: “It was a big surprise. Five weeks ago I wasn’t even planning to stand in the election.”

Mary-Anne Donovan, chairman of the Rutland and Melton Conservative Association, said: “We respect Peter’s decision to resign but are sorry he chose to do so. Our association has valued Peter as a member, supported his election and thank him for his service as a councillor. We’ll now be moving on to select a candidate for the forthcoming by-election.”

I am sure if Rutland and Melton Tories dig a little harder they will find a corrupt person
who is willing to tow the Rutland and Melton Party way of doing things.

Shame Mr Faulkner resigned from the Council he should have just resigned the Party.
