The chairman who oversaw the near-collapse of the Co-operative Bank
has been caught buying and using illegal drugs including crystal meth, crack cocaine and ketamine.

The Rev Paul Flowers, a Methodist minister at Clayton Methodist Church
was filmed buying the substances just days after he was grilled by MPs on
the Treasury Select Committee over the bank's disastrous performance.

In the video, Rev Flowers, 63, is seen in his car discussing the cocaine and
crystal meth he wants from a dealer in Leeds. He then counts out £300 in
£20 notes and sends a friend to make the deal.

Reverend Paul Flowers, is also a former Bradford councillor
Mr Flowers, a former Labour councillor, resigned his seat in the Great Horton ward, 
in September 2011, due to his increased responsibilities as the bank's chairman.

Methodist Reverend Paul Flowers, was the vice chairman of Rochdale social services 
committee which had control over the Rochdale Satanic Abuse Cases and was discovered 
to have a conviction for indecency during the height of the allegations. full details of this

In 1990, social workers from the Rochdale area raided five homes at dawn and took 21 
children into care. The officials suspected that horrendous criminal acts were being perpetrated 
by the children's parents, allegedly members of a Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) "cult". In 1991, 
the courts determined that the allegations of Satanic Ritual Abuse were false. 
However an injunction has prevented the children from speaking about the case.

Flowers formerly chaired drugs charity Lifeline, whose motto is: 'Telling the Truth About Drugs.' In one report, Rev Flowers wrote of 'the ever-increasing problems associated with drug use faced by individuals, families and communities'.


He also serves as a Trustee of the body which looks after all the Methodist Church's invested funds and property in the UK.

Serving as a Labour Party Councillor on the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council - for 10 years - where he specialised in quasi-judicial matters and was a member of the Council's Executive. 

For 14 years; he was Vice-Chair of the National Association of Citizens' Advice Bureaux and a member of the Advertising Standards Authority. 

In 2010 he was appointed by the Leader of the Opposition to the Labour Party's Finance and Industry Board.

As an out gay man he is a Trustee of the Terrence Higgins Trust.
