Take comfort from this
You have a book in your hand
Not a loaded gun or a parking fine
Or an invitation card to the wedding
Of the one you should have married

“The Patron Saint of Poetry” - Carol Ann Duffy

A new book of poems by Roger McGough is always an event, and As Far As I Know is truly a cause for celebration. Hilarious and surreal, McGough is a poet of many voices: menace and melancholy there may be, but with plenty of his characteristic wit and wordplay.

Newly elected President of the Poetry Society, Roger McGough has been honoured with a CBE for services to literature, and the Freedom of the City of Liverpool for good behaviour. From Scaffold’s Lily The Pink and The Mersey Sound with Adrian Henri & Brian Patten to Radio 4’s long-running Poetry Please - the beat goes on.

Copies of As Far as I Know will be on sale, and Roger McGough will be happy to sign copies afterwards.
