Rutland County Councillors Reluctantly Agree To Support Proposed New Primary School to be Built at Catmose Campus.

At this evenings council meeting members agreed to support a bid from Catmose College
members seemed to be somewhat forced into supporting the bid because they have
no control over academies and it was said if the council did not support the bid Catmose
would go ahead without them.

There was a some criticism of Harington School. I also agree it should never have been
agreed. I also agree it is far to exclusive.

The Chairman Kenneth Bool said he wrote to the education minister at the time
Harington was being created and stated there was not enough footfall.

Edward Baines was also critical.

None of these people as far as I can remember spoke up at council meetings when the
Tory administration destroyed post 16 Education here in Rutland.

Interest to see the remains of that Tory mess now point the finger of blame for the
demise of the Rutland County College in the direction of Harington.
