Rutland Morris Dancers Dance and Walk around Oakham

Oakham, Rutland – The vibrant streets of Oakham were filled with the rhythmic sounds of traditional English folk dancing today as the Rutland Morris Dancers marked their 50th anniversary. On Rutland Day, the group joined in the festivities, parading through the county town and performing their intricate steps and patterns.

As part of their anniversary celebrations, the Morris Dancers also took the opportunity to raise funds for a local charity, Peppers – a Safe Place.

The Morris Dancers' colourful costumes and energetic performances delighted onlookers, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the day. Their presence added a unique and traditional touch to the Rutland Day celebrations, reminding everyone of the rich heritage and culture of the region.
