Local Crime Alert

Since the last Neighbourhood watch brief we have had one report of criminal damage to a vehicle in Old Great North Road, Great Casterton. The rear offside window had been smashed with a large sandstone rock. This incident occurred between 19/12/2016 07:30 & 19/12/2016 07:45.
One report of criminal damage to a door in a block of flats at Northgate, Oakham. A window pane on the communal door had been smashed. This incident occurred between 14/12/2016 17:19 & 17/12/2016 18:00.

One report of the theft of two unsecured pedal cycles from Chapel Lane, North Luffenham. Persons unknown removed the cycles from the rear garden. This incident occurred between 20/12/2016 17:00 & 21/12/2016 09:30.

One report of a burglary non-dwelling in Parkfield Rd, Oakham. An unsecured shed was entered and items stolen. This incident occurred between 16/12/2016 08:00 & 20/12/2016 16:00.

Since the last Neighbourhood watch brief we have had one report of the theft of front and rear number plates from a vehicle in Siskin Rd, Uppingham. This incident occurred between 27/11/2016 15:42 & 28/11/2016 15:42.

One report of criminal damage to a show home in the Charles Church Development, Oakham. The window sills were damaged and the door lock super glued. This incident occurred between 27/11/2016 12:00 & 28/11/2016 12:00.

One report of the theft of a trailer from a field in Wood Lane, Braunston.  This incident occurred between 23/11/2016 17:00 & 25/11/2016 12:00.

‘Not sure? Don’t open the door’ is the message from Leicestershire Police following an increase in distraction burglaries across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Not all burglars break into your home, some try to trick or con their way in. Known as distraction burglars, or bogus callers, they will try to mislead you or distract your attention to get into your home and steal your money or valuables. Perpetrators are targeting vulnerable people and they will knock on the door and state that they are from a utility company, working next door and that they need the victim to check something. One report of the theft of two unsecured pedal cycles in Melton Rd, Oakham. This incident occurred between 0/11/2016 22:00 & 21/11/2016 08:00.
