Rutland Refill re-opens as Oakham Refill, with a new focus on community engagement
Rutland Refill, a failed zero-waste shop and café in Oakham, Rutland, has re-opened its doors under new management and with a new name: Oakham Refill Shoppe.
The shop, which is located on the Melton Road-Westgate junction, first opened in 2021, but closed its doors in September 2023 due to financial difficulties.
The new owner has retained the shop's original focus on eco-friendly products and services, but she is also keen to make Oakham Refill Shoppe a more active part of the local community. She has already launched a range of workshops and classes, including fabric pumpkin making, knitting, and crochet. She also plans to host regular community events, such as coffee mornings.
