The Rutland County Show is currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly organised professional to take on the leadership role of Show Manager. Organised by the Rutland Agricultural Society, this prominent regional event continues to expand, offering an incredible leadership opportunity for someone passionate about agriculture, community events, and large-scale public entertainment.
Held annually in early June at the Rutland Showground just outside Oakham, the Rutland County Show has grown significantly over the past decade, successfully attracting approximately 14,000 visitors. The event maintains a proud and strong agricultural identity featuring comprehensive livestock programs including cattle, sheep, goats, and heavy and light horses alongside vibrant trade stands, food and drink outlets, and family entertainment.
As the Show Manager, you will:
Lead Event Delivery: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the one-day agricultural show throughout the year.
Collaborate Closely: Work hand-in-hand with a small Executive Team.
Manage Stakeholders: Coordinate a large network of volunteers, exhibitors, contractors, suppliers, and community partners.
Prioritize & Execute: Juggle multiple priorities and tight deadlines with keen attention to detail and stellar communication skills.
Experience or background in agriculture, farming, event management, or large public event coordination is a distinct advantage.
Compensation and Working Arrangements
Salary & Terms: By negotiation, dependent upon experience and availability.
