Sir Alan Duncan MP called to abolish email disclaimers ‘once and for all.’
MPs passed a ten minute rule bill from Conservative MP Sir Alan Duncan to abolish email disclaimers - found at the end of business emails that instruct the recipient on what to do if they have received the email in error - "once and for all".
Sir Alan has labelled these disclaimers "one of the worst scourges of the internet age" which have proliferated not because they are genuinely needed but because everyone else uses them.
Here is an example of a e-mail disclaimer ‘nonsense’ that is total 'nonsense' included in emails from
the Conservative Deputy Leader of Rutland County Council who has trouble spelling copyright.
I sincerely hope your period on the Town Council does no more damage to the good name of the Town and its residents.
