Kent Police, Police England and Wales Police and Crime Commissioner elections, 2012

Kent Police

Anne Barnes, magistrate and former chair of Kent Police Authority, is standing as an independent.
PARTY POLITICS BELONGS IN WESTMINSTER, NOT IN KENT POLICE.

Dayantha Liyanage, former Liberal Democrat mayor of Medway, is standing as an independent.Policing and tackling crime in Kent and Medway is far too important to be left at the mercy of party hacks; control of the resources must be in the hands of a truly independent leader because this person will be accountable to the local community.

Cllr Craig Mackinlay, chartered accountant/tax adviser, Conservative councillor on Medway Council and former UKIP leader, is the Conservative candidate having defeated Francois Gordon, former Ambassador to Ivory Coast in the nomination process. I want to bring crime down and make people feel safer.  We must be tougher on criminals, tougher on crime and put the victims of crime first.  I am on the side of those who live by the rules, respect others and pay their share.

Steven Uncles, NHS IT and facilities manager, is the English Democrats candidate. The Kent Police Commissioner replaces the ineffective Kent Police Authority.

Cllr Piers Wauchope, criminal barrister and UKIP councillor on Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, is the UKIP candidate. I am determined to restore real policing values by re- establishing the police in the community and working to ensure there are more police on the beat. Police priorities should be preventing and investigating real crimes. There should be no tolerance of drug related crime or anti social behaviour and, importantly, there should for the first time be an effective crime plan to stop reoffending both for youths and young adults.”

Cllr Harriet Yeo, president of the TSSA, chair of the NEC and leader of the Labour Group on Ashford Borough Council, is the Labour candidate.   The needs of Victims before Villains #vb4v
