Rupert Matthews (right)  current Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner
he can currently be seen out and about canvasing for the Conservatives
who want to abolish Leicester Mayor, I have asked if he is on holiday or on
a day off or doing it whilst being paid to be the PCC he has not responded to
my question. (I would be willing to help campaign to abolish the role of the
police and crime commissioner.)
Lord Will Bach recently raised concerns in the House of Lords about the role
of our PCC or was that concerns about the PCC?

The third question, you are forced to answer!

To sustain your local police service in 2023-2024, how much more are you willing to pay? *

There only three options all stating you are willing to pay a increase.

Every year there is an increase and we are forced to pay. So I can't complete the survey.

A little over tens years ago Leicestershire, Leicester and  Rutland Police and Crime Commissioners Hustings was held at Rutland County Museum, here in Oakham.

The candidates were Clive Robert Loader Conservative Party, Suleman Nagdi Independent, Sarah Christine Russell Labour Party.

The role of the PCC was never made that clear, a lot who attended the hustings left thinking the PCC would actually have some control of policing in the area, especially the crime farmers suffered. Unfortunately people very quickly learnt the PCC can do nothing to assist people.

Sir Clive Loader Conservative was the first elected, Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. With a dreadful voters turnout Turnout percentage: 16.36% He was a little broken at the end of his term.

Harborough Councillor Neil Bannister the Conservative candidate Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland police and crime commissioner failed to get elected in 2016, he is the one next to granny Patsy who is wearing the pink coat.

The other candidates were Willy Bach (Labour),  Sarah Hill Liberal Democrat and David Sprason UK Independence Party - UKIP
