The dance world is mourning the loss of Robin Windsor, a talented dancer and former Strictly Come Dancing professional, who has tragically passed away at the age of 44.

A Beloved Figure in the Dance Community

Windsor, known for his infectious energy and vibrant personality, captivated audiences with his graceful movements and passionate performances. He started dancing at the young age of three and went on to become a successful competitor, representing England in numerous World Championship competitions. His career highlight was undoubtedly his participation in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, where he partnered with celebrities like Patsy Kensit, Lisa Riley, and Deborah Meaden. He even made history by performing the show's first-ever same-sex dance alongside Aljaž Škorjanec in 2014.

Beyond the Ballroom

Windsor's impact extended beyond the ballroom. He was a passionate advocate for various causes, including male cancer awareness, LGBTQ+ equality, and domestic violence prevention. He actively participated in charity events and used his platform to raise awareness for important issues.

Robin Windsor 

15 September 1979 – 20 February 2024


Windsor was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, and grew up in the Spring Road area. 

He attended Clifford Road Primary and Copleston High School. 

He began dancing at the age of three, when his parents took him to the 

Ipswich School of Dancing. 

At age 15, Windsor moved to London to pursue his career as a dancer.
