Uppingham Benefice Welcomes the Reverend Canon Allison Twigg as New Rector
The Uppingham Benefice marked an exciting new chapter this week with a special celebration service officially welcoming its new Rector.
Held at the Parish Church, the service brought together community members and clergy to install the Reverend Canon Allison Twigg into her new leadership role. She will serve as Rector of Uppingham with Ayston and Belton with Wardley.
The celebratory service was led by prominent regional church figures, including Bishop Andrew Proud, Assistant Bishop of the Diocese, and the Venerable Allison Booker, Archdeacon of Oakham.
Canon Twigg brings a wealth of experience to Rutland following her previous ministry as Rector of the Uplands group of churches in Northamptonshire, alongside her role as the rural Dean of Brixworth. Her leadership is expected to bring renewed energy to the local parishes as she settles into her new community.
