Uppingham Man Jailed for Desborough Burglary and Breaching Suspended Sentence
Nathan Clayton, from Uppingham, Rutland, has been sentenced to prison after committing a burglary at a home in Desborough, Northamptonshire. The sentence was aggravated by the fact that the offence was committed while Clayton was subject to a suspended sentence for a previous crime.
Nathan Clayton was convicted of a burglary committed in Desborough. The conviction for this offence led to an immediate custodial sentence.
At the time of the Desborough burglary, Clayton was serving a suspended sentence.
Clayton was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on November 9, 2023.
The judge imposed the following sentence:
Burglary Sentence: 32 months in prison.
Activation of Suspended Sentence: The judge also activated 6 months of the original suspended sentence, to run consecutively (one after the other) with the new sentence.
This resulted in an overall total custodial term of 38 months (3 years and 2 months).
