To help the displaced people collections points have been set up in Oakham,
Uppingham and Stamford to help the aid effort for Calais and Syria
UPPINGHAM
Parish Church is open for donations this week
Monday 2pm-5.30pm
Tuesday 11-5 (this is when most items will be dropped)
Wednesday 10-5 (with a gap in the middle for a concert)
Thursday 10-5 (this will be loading and driving day, also may need volunteers
to drive in convoy to a storage space)
OAKHAM
At the moment donations are being taken to 27 Beech Road, Oakham; although there may be a central drop off in the town soon. All the details for Oakham are on this website

Shoes (trainer or hiking shoes size 41-46 – men’s)
Tents, covers, tarpaulin
Mens Jackets - size small and medium
Travelling bags
Socks, Belts
Candles
Always needed:
Tracksuit trousers
Jeans size 28-32
Blankets, Sleeping bags
Soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste,
Plastic bags
Woolly hats
Pants
Pots, pans
Not needed in Calais:
Women and children’s clothes or shoes, sheets, pillows, suits, town shoes, wellies -
the vast majority of people are adult men.
What is needed in Kos
Warm children and women's clothing
Baby wipes, Nappy sacks
Baby biscuits, Baby bottles
Sanitary towels, Soap, Small towels, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste
Razors
Colouring books and pencils , Sweets/candies
Fleece blankets, Children's socks
Sturdy children's shoes (suitable for doing lots of walking)
We will also be grateful of any donation of sturdy small boxes, labels, sharpie pens, parcel tape, clear containers.
You can also donate cash at if you would like to help pay towards the postage of getting items directly to the children in Kos.
