Rutland County Council, Upsets Oakham Traders, Road Closure, No Consultation.

Rutland County Council, Upsets Oakham Traders, Road Closure, No Consultation.

I wonder what happened to the old brothel sign? which was quite
a tourist attraction, have the new owners given it to the museum
or sent it to Loughborough where it moved onto at the same time
our police inspector was sent packing, I am told a nearby premises
keeps the phone number in their till for the loyal customers who
don't mind travelling to Loughborough. (I am not saying Inspector Monks
has any association with the enterprise, he did turn a blind eye to it until
his friend Cllr Haworth mentioned it at a council meeting Cllr Haworth would
often refer to the owner by her first name in various on-line forums)

Oakham Level Crossing has been closed for a week now as equipment is replaced, which will make the signal box redundent. The crossing should be open Monday morning.

To add to traders difficulties Rutland County County Council decided to close Melton Road to resurface
it without telling any of the people it has effected.

Can you imagine the effect on the florist this week? As another florist not effected by any closure worked through the night the florist in Melton Road was in darkeness.

The Fishing shop were very not very happy and took to tweeting.

I can't imagine the Esso petrol station were to happy as a steady flow of traffic decided the best diversion
route was through their forecourt.
