Victorian Christmas Fayre Melton Mowbray Town Centre

Victorian Christmas Fayre

Melton Mowbray Town Centre

2nd December 2012

The Victorian Fayre From 10am, the streets will come alive with entertainment and merriment for all to enjoy.

Stall holders and shopkeepers all dressed in Victorian clothing.

Mulled wine brewing, chestnuts roasting, dancers dancing, singers singing, the list just goes on and on. Local foods are a plenty and if you fancy a sit down to rest your weary legs after all the shopping that you are able to do from the many stalls on offer,

Melton Mowbray has many restaurants and hostelries to tempt you in.

Santa and his elves will of course be in attendance, so you can give him your wish list, in the hope that you have been good and he pops down your chimney on the 25th

Many local entertainers are booked.

Those dreadful street beggars I am sure will be there - watch out for them,
they have a habit of creeping up and pecking the ladies on the cheek.
Morris dancers, Victorian Dancing - join in - they will be more than happy to teach you.
No Victorian event would be complete without the great lady herself - Queen Victoria, who will be walking through the town, talking about her life and what went on in the period of history.

Local school children have been encouraged to learn about this wonderful era and have been asked to dress accordingly for that time. Happening history - are a couple who invite the children to play with replica toys and games, so do look out for them.

The Hurdy -gurdy and the Hammer Dolcimer will be playing - what is that I hear you ask, well come and find out.

Throughout the entire weekend, the fabulous Christmas Tree Festival at St Marys Church is taking place alongside the Crib Festival at Sage Cross Church - both now to be missed - magical! For timings for these,

please see the events page www.melton.gov.uk

There is free parking on the Sunday, so no excuse not to come.
