Rutland County Council, We Don't want the public Deputations from individuals
In our free and democratic country you would think it would be easy for the residents of
Rutland to be able to speak at Council meetings.
The Council recently changed the rules again.
A member of the public wants to make a deputation at the Special Meeting this evening.
When the council will decide what to do after the Bevan report, Re: The Rutland Anti Corruption
Group.
The member of the public visited Rutland County Council and asked for a print out of the rules
for presenting a deputation.
They carefully read the rules, wrote the deputation and notified the council with in the required time frame.
The member of the public received a telephone call from Geoff Pook and was told, No you can't make
a deputation because you are not part of a group.
The member of the public said but it does not say that in the rules.
Geoff Pook replied is does in another section of the rules.
Anyway the present situation is the member of the public will be presenting a deputation because
they visited a local pub, the owner and to local drinkers signed the deputation.
