Oakham in Bloom Awarded consolation prize of Silver Gilt, Well Done to Uppingham in Bloom for Gold, All Results

Oakham in Bloom Awarded consolation prize of Silver Gilt, Well Done to Uppingham in Bloom for Gold.

Oakham in Bloom volunteers do a grand job (not the committee members) and I would
like to thank them for their efforts as I always have.
I repeat my thanks due to a statement that was read out by Cllr Lucas before the start
of Oakham Town Councils meeting last night. Although no name was given by Cllr
Lucas is was obvious to me and to those who could be bothered to listen she was once
again attacking me and falsely accusing me of attacking Oakham in Bloom.

The In Bloom news has been reported in the press and on Rutland Radio.

Chris Morten Chairman of Oakham in Bloom on Rutland Radio reminded us all
of the road works Chris and his wife work hard weeding and planting along with
other volunteers. Chris said the theme was Bloomin Roadworks and it did not
hamper their efforts and it had made the team gel/ I assume he is only refering
to those members who like him actually do the work and not the committee members.

Who spent the summer fighting, the result being broken friendships and resignations.
Which included their fundraiser and long serving Press Officer.

Oakham in Bloom always won an extra  Award for the best new permanent landscape – Lands End Way border, in Oakham which was created and planted in 2015.

From Oakham in Bloom Website, At the top of Lands End Way at the bypass roundabout junction, Oakham In Bloom have maintained a wildflower bed for several years.
