Oakham town centre will come to a standstill on Friday, May 31st, 2024, as bikers pay tribute to Andrew "Dobby" Chappell. The procession will pass by his workplace, Ladbrokes, it will stop for two minutes outside.

Bikers to Pay Tribute to Andrew "Dobby" Chappell in Oakham

Oakham town centre will come to a standstill on Friday, May 31st, 2024, as bikers pay tribute to Andrew "Dobby" Chappell. The procession will pass by his workplace, Ladbrokes, for two minutes.

Schedule:

  • Bikers are requested to meet by 12:45 p.m. at The Sun Inn, 25 Main St, Cottesmore, Oakham LE15 7DH.
  • The procession is expected to join the funeral cortege around 1:15 p.m. as it passes by from the Rogues Lane direction.
  • The procession will travel through Oakham Town Centre via the High Street and stop at Ladbrokes for two minutes before continuing to Great Glen, arriving around 2:15 p.m.

About Andrew "Dobby" Chappell

Andrew Chappell, known as "Dobby," was a well-known figure in Oakham town centre. He passed away at work suddenly on April 13th at the age of 54.

He is survived by his wife Paula, mother Sandra, children Katie, John, Maggie, and Aiden, grandchildren Pyrrha and Alwyn, foster children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
